The excitement is just waiting for you to explore this picturesque land with antebellum homes, historic residences, museums and endless outdoor activities, not forgetting the warm Alabamian hospitality. A good variety of bed and breakfast accommodations can be found across the breath and length of Alabama State making it a truly worthy vacation destination.

North Alabama marks the southern foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain and is renowned for its unsurpassed beauty. Nestled in the hills you'll find Guntersville steeped in true southern tradition and rich in natural beauty. Walk the glorious 33 miles of hiking trails and tour through the majestic sites of these delightful Appalachain foothills where the majestic bald eagles soar high up in the clear blue skies. You will enjoy year round exhibitions at the Museum and Cultural Center where a permanent collection of Indian artefacts are on show. A must visit are the wonders of the Cathedral Caverns, or perhaps some shopping for designer clothes in one of America's top ten outlet malls. Lake Guntersville is ideal for the angler and if it's bass you wish to catch then you have found one of America's finest bass and sporting fishing lakes.

America's most colorful 100-mile scenic drive begins at Noccalula Falls Park in Gadsden and travels north through Mentone, here you'll find Lookout Mountain Parkway where you'll experience acres of forest trails, streams, a beautiful ninety-foot waterfall, nature trails including a botanical garden with more than 25,000 azaleas and a pioneer village offering a unique collection of hand painted, signed, registered and dated original gourds known as "Gourdies." Tuscumbia Spring Park Golf Course and Park is a public course set in a pretty well kept landscaped and is also used for many other outdoor events and festivals. A waterfall and a breathtaking jet fountain have recently been added to the park, the fountain is dedicated to the memory of Princess Im-Mi-Ah-Kay, wife of Chickasaw Indian Chief Tuscumbia. Other interests in the area are a variety of performing and visual arts programs often taking place at the Alabama Music Hall of fame with memorabilia on show ranging from Tammy Wynette, Lionel Ritchie, the group ALABAMA to The Commodores and many more.

A trip to Birmingham is worthy of a detour, it's a charming town that pays tribute to the jazz greats with ties from the early beginnings of jazz to the present day. Birmingham is also the birthplace of Carl Lewis the Olympic hero, not forgetting the legendary Jesse Owens winner of four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. If you feel energetic, then riding a Canoe on the Cahaba River is to your taste, you'll also find guided kayak trips, mountain climbing, adventure travel, whitewater boating and most other outdoor pursuits. While in Tuscaloosa try the splendour of Turn-of-Century Grand Exhibition Hall exhibiting dinosaur fossils, rocks and minerals and you can also see the only meteorite known to have struck a human.

Unique in character is the Orange Beach Indian and Sea Museum dedicated to the preservation of the Gulf Coast sea and Indian history in Baldwin County, there is also the Orange Beach Golf Center offering two 18-hole mini-golf courses, go-karts, laser tag, large family arcade, paddle boats, snack bar, virtual reality roller coaster and race car, kiddie rides, remote-controlled boats, kiddie go-karts and bumper boats are all a real must for the enjoyment of all the family. Sail the romantic Daedalus, both a relaxing and adventurous coastline where you sail in among the dolphin-habitat and home of the largest fishing fleet on the Gulf of Mexico and where you can enjoy the excitement of deep-sea fishing.

Mobile is one of America's first port cities steeped in three centuries of history, situated along the Gulf Coast with miles of clean white beaches. Old-world charm and a mild climate make this French influenced coastal town a delightful resort to enjoy. Explore the beaches or try your luck at the casinos. Visit the stunning Gulf Coastal Plain, the swamps and bayous of the Mobile River Delta or hike the most notable birding trail where it loops around delta bottomlands of Mobile Bay, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Bon Secour and its sandy terrain.

Southeast Alabama includes picturesque Andalusia and Dothan with the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, a truly scenic region with acres of pretty wooded areas and a gently rolling landscape, or for more fun visit the huge Adventure Theme Park. Located in the city of Florala, along beautiful Lake Jackson is Florala State Park offering picnic areas along the lakeshore, swimming, fishing and walking with plenty of outdoor activities for the whole family.
